This year’s marathon was overshadowed by terror and tragedy. Another reminder of the seemingly insurmountable challenges that our world is faced with. From acts of terror to climate change to pathetic partisan grid lock in our world’s capitals, it is almost enough to make you give up hope. But then we see images of people running towards a blast to help the injured, we see a city and a nation come together in grief and we see the innocent face of an eight year old child, who lost his life in Monday’s blast, holding a sign reminding us “No More Hurting People…Peace.”
Our future lies with today’s youth. Kids around the world like Martin Richard will save humanity. But we must invest and support them on their journey.
At TaskUs, we have chosen to invest heavily in children’s education. In the Philippines, the country where we have our largest offices, the TaskUs Foundation paid for four amazing children to go to great schools and extra circular activities last year. This year alone, we raised over $7,000 from our friends, family and clients. I’m proud to say that Jaspar and I are going to donate an additional $13,000, so that we meet our $20,000 fundraising goal. With these funds, we will support eight amazing children to get the education they deserve.
Thank you all for your incredible support. We are changing the future of our world, together.
