On my walk to the gym at 6, I came across a squirrel. Through patience, persistence and (most importantly) intelligence the squirrel had worked his way into a trash bin and pulled out a mini Snickers.

This afternoon I sat in my office listening to the buzzing of a bee, as it relentlessly pressed itself up against the same pane of glass for nearly two hours.

The lesson is to take a step back and examine the situation, problem or challenge. I so often feel like I lose perspective in the daily flurry of tasks that come across my desk. It is only when I take a moment to take a step back and see the forest for the trees, that effective strategy comes to me. When was the last time that you sat stressed out at your desk pouring over a pile of work and had an AHAA moment?
