Alright so, after years of sitting on the sidelines I finally got myself a LinkedIn account last week. I linked to some folks I used to work with, the entire TaskUs team and some other business associates, and then…
Nothing, because LinkedIn is the most boring social network on the internet today. It’s like a big corporate cocktail party without the cocktails. The sole purpose of the entire network is to be able to search for business people you would like to get to know and “Request” (read beg for) an introduction. It’s a bunch of stiff profiles of our business incarnations sitting around aimlessly.
If Facebook is the most popular kid in school, winner of the Best All Around award in the yearbook, and Twitter is the artsy rebel, winner of Most Unique, then LinkedIn is the socially awkward kid who over exaggerates his own intelligence and missed picture day.
If you haven’t LinkedIn stay away. It’s a big waste of time.
