The past few months have been intense. With the launch of the website I’m back to working investment banking hours, with none of the income to show for it. Add the crumbling economy as the back drop and my anxiety levels have shot up to code orange.

There is nothing like a weekend away to put things in
perspective. You don’t need to get on a plane or travel to an exotic location to find respite (although exotic would be nice). This weekend I drove 90 minutes up PCH to Santa Barbara. It was majestic.

Great food, tons of wine and idyllic surroundings. Friday night we had dinner at The Palace a Cajun restaurant off State Street. The Crawfish stuffed blackened fillet was too die for. Saturday we toured the vineyards of Santa Ynez, starting with Sauvignon Blanc at Firestone and ending dreamily with a vintage Port at Fess Parker. Sunday, we walked the coast and drove home with the sun setting at our backs. The low orange light of the winter solstice glimmered across the open ocean and onto the bluffs.

Sounds like a very special weekend for you and Jasper. I hope after all that wine and good food you at least put out.
