I am very self critical:

“I am not getting enough done.”

“I don’t look good enough.”

“I am not being nice enough.”

This is the inner voice I call The Critic. She’s around all the time to remind me why what I am doing is stupid or bad or too slow.

I have really had enough of The Critic. So how do I get rid of her?

Rather than keeping things in the negative – change it to the positive for motivation rather than criticism. Examples:

    “Do something.”

    “Just do it.”

    “Work.”

    “Smile.”

…kind of the same strategy as Obama’s “Hope” and “Change” messages. Simple, memorable, very effective. As for the “I don’t look good enough,” that’s a harder one, but I’d say you don’t need to worry about that, Bryce.

How to get rid of her? Everytime you hear her, say something very rude to her šŸ˜‰
