I’m a bit of a work out fanatic. I go to my local 24 hour fitness 6 times a week, rotating lifting, cardio and yoga days, although even this routine doesn’t put me in the same category of work out obsession as Jaspar, who has recently begun sending me the daily work out routines he documents on his iPhone.
This week I’ve found my work outs a lot more inspired, for one simple reason: The Olympics. Watching people my own age, preform at such a high level is both envy inducing and motivating. I’ve been watching coverage via www.nbcolympics.com, because the one channel coverage in the U.S. is the pitiful product of capitalism gone awry (a subject for another blog perhaps). My favorite so far was the incredible performance put on by Jason Lezak and the U.S. men’s 4 x 100m freestyle team. Check it out here. Incredible!
Anyhow, apparently I’m not the only one who has been inspired. Today when I arrived at the gym at 6:30 a.m. it was packed. Not an ideal situation for my Jason Statham circuit routine.
